HappyOps’ mission is to enhance the efficiency and productivity of factories through cutting-edge software solutions and the use of Artificial Intelligence, thereby strengthening Europe's production base. We are a self-funded profitable startup company with Munich-based business operations and a nationwide remote software engineering team. Our young and dynamic company culture is committed towards growth, actively encouraging new ideas and contributions from everyone to continuously drive the development of HappyOps.

About the role:

Do you want to have a direct impact on the customer projects at HappyOps? Do you want to work closely with our small, agile and experienced software engineering team that has over 10 years of experience, to boost your personal growth and gain direct insights into the processes of a growing startup?

As a software engineering working student or intern, you will have hands-on responsibility, support the further development of our existing software solutions and get a taste of working in an early-stage startup in the B2B / Enterprise Software sector.

Join our team to advance our current software solutions, contribute to customer projects from planning to execution, write and test code, utilize databases for data management and analysis, design and enhance dashboards and user interfaces, and work collaboratively with our agile team to innovate and solve problems.

Tasks
  • Supporting the further development of our existing software solutions.
  • Assisting in customer projects from conception to implementation.
  • Writing and testing code in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Working with PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB for data management and analysis.
  • Creating and optimizing dashboards and user interfaces.
  • Collaborating closely with our small, agile team to develop innovative solutions.

Influence on HappyOps

Your voice is very important to us and we encourage active participation in the improvement of company processes to further increase innovation, productivity and employee/customer satisfaction.

Requirements

We are looking for a working student or intern capable of communicating effectively, working independently, developing and optimizing software solutions, and engaging in projects from conception through to implementation. This role involves collaborating closely with our engineering team to innovate and continuously improve our software offerings.

  • You are currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have initial practical experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • You are highly self-motivated and passionate about software development.
  • You enjoy working in a small, dynamic and continuously growing company.
  • You are willing to take on responsibility and work independently.
  • You ideally speak German too, however English is our company language, so it is not a must.

Soft Skills:

  • You have great social skills, including strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • You are a skilled problem solver and can adapt to changing situations and customer needs.
  • You think creatively, regularly bringing in new ideas and fresh perspectives.
  • You work in a structured and analytical way, handling complex tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
  • You show a lot of initiative, pay attention to detail, and have a "get-stuff-done" mentality.
Benefits
  • The opportunity to help companies from highly relevant industries become more efficient, environmentally friendly, and effective, and to make the workplace more attractive for factory workers.
  • Understanding and solving exciting real-world problems from a complex, heterogeneous domain by developing creative solutions and actively shaping the productization and organization of HappyOps.
  • Working with a very experienced team that is closely knit, places a high value on communication, and is caring towards colleagues as well as customers.
  • A flexible work environment that focuses on results, not just presence and screen time. Flat hierarchies, the freedom to choose home office as well as office presence and IT equipment, and a good salary.
  • Benefit from flexible working hours to accommodate your study schedule, the option to work 100% remotely (although Munich is preferred).
  • Flexible working hours to fit your study schedule.
  • Quarterly occuring team events.
  • An exciting startup atmosphere in a burgeoning company with opportunities for personal and professional development and growth.

Last but not least, we will not consider your age, gender, sexual identity, ethnicity, or religion when assessing your suitability for this position, as these factors are irrelevant to your role within the team.

Does this sound like your dream job? If so, we would love to hear from you! Even if this position sounds interesting but you feel you may not meet all the qualifications, we would still like to hear from you!

Please send us your resume and let us know your earliest possible start date and your salary expectations.
