Who Are We?

Over the past 40 years, we have developed into a market-leading global consulting firm that brings together diverse skills and experts to serve our clients as a trusted advisor in their greatest opportunities and challenges. Each of our areas is a leader in its own right, led by experts recognized for their comprehensive knowledge and deep specialization. Together, we offer a comprehensive service package that supports our clients throughout the business cycle—from proactive risk management to the ability to respond swiftly to unexpected crises and dynamic environments.

Your Responsibilities

As part of our Geopolitical Risk Services team, you will assist internationally operating clients in early detection, assessment, and mitigation of geopolitical risks. You will operate at the intersection of politics and business, advising decision-makers on translating geopolitical developments into actionable recommendations. As a rapidly growing team, we thrive on initiative and encourage team members at all levels to actively take charge of and drive aspects of our development. We foster a culture of inclusion and respect based on team-oriented thinking and honest, open communication.

The internship is designed for a duration of six months at our Berlin location, and we aim to fill the position promptly.

Your Main Tasks Will Include:

  • Research: Monitoring geopolitical developments and analysing their impacts on the business environment of international companies.
  • Project Work: Actively participating in projects related to the detection, assessment, and mitigation of geopolitical risks for international clients.
  • Proposal Preparation: Understanding and implementing the ideas of potential clients regarding our geopolitical consulting offerings.
  • Teamwork: Proactively integrating into our team at the location and effectively communicating with colleagues and supervisors.

Additionally, as part of FLC FAAS, you can take on partial responsibility in areas such as anti-money laundering and anti-corruption as well as public sector compliance:

  • Supporting corruption risk analyses.
  • Developing compliance policies.
  • Assisting in compliance risk assessments.

Your Development Opportunities

We support you in your professional development with a range of programs aimed at fostering leadership skills and growth opportunities. Continuous learning and individual competence development are supported through "Learning on the Job," self-directed career development courses, and certifications. You will receive a personal coach who will mentor you and provide feedback through regular coaching sessions. This coach will act as a promoter of your professional development.

Through your internship, you will gain an authentic insight into the consulting activities. We emphasize sustainable employee development, and thus we are generally interested in your continued employment as a consultant after the successful completion of your internship.

Requirements

We are looking for:

  • You are in the final phase of your university studies or have already completed them with very good grades, ideally with a focus on economics or political science.
  • Ideally, you have already gained initial experience in the areas of (geopolitical) risk management, strategy development, and/or crisis management in a consulting firm or a company.
  • You possess excellent analytical thinking skills, a strong willingness to perform, initiative, and high team spirit.
  • You have very good IT user skills, especially in the MS Office 365 Suite.
  • You have very good command of both German and English, spoken and written. A third language is not mandatory but helpful.
  • You can communicate work results, ideas, as well as questions and problems professionally and persuasively to both employees and management.

Benefits

  • A well-paid six-month internship at our Berlin location.
  • Consulting projects with reputable, internationally operating clients.
  • An inspiring, agile work environment at a world market leader in expert consultancy within a rapidly growing German team.
  • Professional and personal development through regular exchanges with your personal career coach.
  • Diversity and equal opportunity as well as an open corporate culture.
  • Use of modern work technologies, including hybrid working/home office options.
