Master's Thesis/Internship: Industrial Energy Demand Forecast and Energy Footprints Estimations
About Energy-Aware Production Scheduling and Production Control
Our AI-driven optimization software is designed to efficiently schedule production in response to fluctuating energy prices. By doing so, it not only helps lower energy costs but also reduces the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production process.
The software takes into account the unique energy requirements of each product throughout its various manufacturing stages within the factory. Furthermore, it considers the variability of energy prices during the manufacturing process, which can be based on market exchange rates or forecasts for renewable energy generation.
TasksIndustrial Energy Demand Forecast and Energy Footprints Estimations
In order to improve our optimization algorithm we want to develop a forecast of the energy demand of industrial companies based on their historical demand, weather forecasts, the production plan etc.. Moreover, we want to estimate the energy footprint of single production steps through the production plan and energy monitoring data.
- Literature research on energy demand forecasts and energy footprint estimations
- Implementation of an AI-based or statistic Industrial Energy Demand Forecast
- Implementation of an AI-based or statistic energy footprint estimation
- Implementation of possible improvements
- Experience in AI, statistics and/or Operations Research
- Experienced in programming (Best: python, C++, go)
- Basic understanding of production processes in the industry
- Motivation to work in a small and fast developing startup
- Pleasure in developing software for a sustainable future
