Our research areas include but not limited to Internet and networking protocols, Industrial Ethernet, IoT, and (beyond) 5G mobile systems.

Research Intern / Master Thesis in Industrial Networks (m/f/d)

Your mission

• Study state-of-the-art (SOTA) for next-generation deterministic industrial networks.
• Set up and perform hands-on lab measurements using industrial network components such as Ethernet and PROFINET switches.
• Implement Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate the feasibility of SOTAs technologies.
• Develop and analyze innovative scheduling algorithm within a software environment.
• Collaborate effectively with a dedicated research team.

Your areas of expertise

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, particularly MAC and Network Layers.
• Experience with virtual machines and Linux environments.
• Proficient in programming with C/C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with network simulation tools (e.g., OMNET++) is a plus.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
