Research Intern – Opportunity Working with LC-MS/MS | Chemistry/Related Fields | (m/f/d)
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our Research and Development team as a working student based in a Munich laboratory. The position involves working around 20 hours per week. This is an excellent opportunity for a current student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and execution of the development of a novel analytical method under the supervision of senior scientists.
- Conduct literature reviews and compile relevant scientific data to support ongoing projects.
- Prepare and analyze dried blood samples using advanced laboratory techniques with a recently launched LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry).
- Optimize tuning of mass spectrometry parameters to achieve low deviations required by clinical laboratory standards.
- Perform technical and clinical validation on real-world samples in cooperation with a renowned German clinic.
- Oversee bioanalytical method validation regarding EMA & FDA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, observations, and results.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret data and contribute to research reports.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and quality standards in the laboratory.
- Assist in the introduction of the method into clinical laboratory routine.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic background with a focus on mass spectrometry
- Prior laboratory experience is preferred, including familiarity with common lab equipment and techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and scientific databases is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen interest in scientific research.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in English or German
