As an intern or researcher, you’ll dive into a international, and diverse environment where innovation meets impact. Guided by Torsten Meurer, our Head of Engineering Identity Management, and his team, you’ll join us in Karlsruhe for a full-time internship or master’s thesis project.

What You’ll Do at Nexus:
As an intern or Master’s thesis student at Nexus, you'll gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of cybersecurity and engineering projects. Your responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
- Deep Dive into PKI and Related Technologies: Conduct research or develop solutions in areas like PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), SSI (Self-Sovereign Identity), and PQC (Post-Quantum Cryptography).
- Development Focus: Apply your software development skills and/or cloud-based services experience to contribute effectively to our projects.
- Project-Based Learning: Choose a thesis topic from our suggested list or propose your own, and work on it throughout your time with us.
Possible Thesis Topics:
- Beyond Agile: Compare modern methodolgies of how organizing software development teams and align this with modern product management
- Post-Quantum Cryptography and AI: These topics are all around at the moment, however this will influence identities, IT security in a lot of different areas - let's do deep dives!
- Bring your own topic: We are a modern software development company - always open for new topics to meet trends and emphasize innovation.
About You:
- You have strong communication skills, effectively conveying information to team members, stakeholders, and candidates.
- You take initiative and contribute ideas while being open to feedback and learning.
- You are eager to grow, continuously seeking opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Enrollment Requirement: You must be currently enrolled in a program offering internships or be at the stage where you are required to complete a Bachelor or Master’s thesis.
- Passion for Cybersecurity: You are eager to build a career in cybersecurity and digital identities.
- Technical Skills: Experience with software development and/or cloud-based services is encouraged. Our stack is based on Java, JavaScript - however we do prototypes in any language best fit the purpose.
