About the role
As a SecOps Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Firebolt’s security posture by improving how we validate and enforce security measures in our development and deployment processes. Your work will contribute to enhancing security validation in CI/CD pipelines, improving Kubernetes security, and streamlining security best practices. Additionally, your efforts will support secure development workflows and help optimize security tooling to maximize effectiveness.
You will work closely with our DevSecOps Engineer, who will provide dedicated mentorship and guidance throughout your internship, ensuring you gain valuable hands-on experience whilst maximizing your impact.
About the day to day
- Work on integrating security validation tools with CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop and maintain Kubernetes validation webhooks.
- Improve Kubernetes development workflows, focusing on best practices and caching.
- Assist in designing better caching strategies and enhancing security validation processes for Kubernetes Image Admission controllers.
- Leverage AI to generate meaningful security reports and insights.
- Interest in cloud infrastructure and security.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Experience with Golang.
A bonus if you have
- Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with validation languages like Rego or Common Language Expression.
- Experience with Certificate Manager or similar tools.
- Knowledge of Helm Charts, Kustomize, or other Kubernetes deployment tooling.
